Fire Watch Security Officer – On Call

Position Overview


Guardian Group Solutions is seeking dependable, professional, and highly attentive Fire Watch Security Officers for on-call assignments.


Fire Watch Officers are responsible for monitoring assigned areas for fire and safety hazards, conducting required patrols, maintaining accurate documentation, and taking immediate action when emergencies or unsafe conditions are identified.


Assignments will be scheduled according to operational and client coverage needs.


Available Shifts


Weekday Shifts


Monday–Friday: 5:00 PM–7:00 AM


Weekend Shifts


Saturday and Sunday: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM


Saturday and Sunday: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


Conduct scheduled and continuous patrols of assigned areas.


Monitor the property for fire, smoke, sparks, flammable materials, and other potential hazards.


Complete accurate and timely Fire Watch logs, inspection records, and incident reports.


Immediately report hazardous or unsafe conditions.


Know the locations of fire extinguishers, alarms, hydrants, exits, and other emergency equipment.


Ensure exits, hallways, fire lanes, and emergency-access areas remain clear and unobstructed.


Maintain communication with supervisors, property management, and designated personnel.


Contact 911 and activate the appropriate emergency alarm when necessary.


Follow all site-specific Fire Watch procedures, post orders, and safety requirements.


Remain at the assigned post until properly relieved or authorized to leave.


Complete all required inspections before, during, and at the end of each shift.


Maintain a professional, attentive, and alert presence throughout the entire assignment.


Minimum Qualifications


Valid Florida Class “D” Security Officer License required.


Must be at least 18 years old.


Must have reliable transportation and a dependable means of communication.


Must be dependable, punctual, attentive, and professional.


Must be able to remain alert throughout an extended assignment.


Must be physically capable of conducting regular walking patrols.


Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.


Must be able to accurately complete written and electronic reports.


Previous security or Fire Watch experience is preferred.
