Position Requirements and Responsibilities
- We are looking for Fire Sprinkler Technicians to join our team in Youngstown, Ohio.
- An active Ohio State Fire Marshal Category 1 certification is required for this position.
- Technicians will install, modify, and repair commercial fire sprinkler systems while working from approved plans and hydraulic calculations to ensure systems pass local fire department inspections.
- Technicians who also hold a Category 3 Fire Pump certification may assist with commercial fire pump installations and qualify for the top end of the pay range.
Key Duties and Technical Standards
- Install, modify, and repair commercial fire sprinkler systems
- Cut, thread, and assemble steel and CPVC sprinkler piping
- Install wet and dry sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA 13 standard
- Perform hydrostatic testing and assist with system inspections
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate final walkthroughs for fire department approvals
- Install and test commercial fire pumps (Category 3 certified technicians)
Essential Qualifications
- Active Ohio State Fire Marshal Individual Certification – Category 1 (Required)
- Minimum 2 years of field experience installing fire protection systems
- Working knowledge of NFPA 13 and the Ohio Fire Code
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Advantageous Certifications
- Ohio State Fire Marshal Category 3 Certification (Fire Pumps)
- Holding both Category 1 and Category 3 certifications qualifies for the top end of the pay range
