Senior Fire Protection Engineer – Data Centers
Job Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: $130,000 - $150,000 (based on experience)
Travel: Approximately 15–25%
Schedule: Remote candidates cannot be located in: Alaska, California, Delaware, Washington D.C., Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, or Washington.

Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to lead the design and execution of fire protection systems for hyperscale data centers, government facilities, and other secure/mission-critical environments. This is a senior technical role responsible for developing fire protection strategies, leading complex designs, coordinating across engineering disciplines, and mentoring junior engineers. 

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and execution of fire protection systems for mission-critical and secure facilities
  • Develop and review fire suppression, fire alarm, and life safety system designs
  • Serve as a technical expert and client liaison for fire protection scopes
  • Ensure designs comply with NFPA, IBC, IFC, UFC, and client-specific requirements
  • Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, security professionals, and other disciplines
  • Provide technical guidance and mentor junior engineers
  • Support proposal development, project scoping, and scheduling
  • Travel to project sites as needed, approximately 15–25%
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of fire protection engineering experience
  • Experience with hyperscale data centers, government, secure, or other mission-critical facilities
  • Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • FPE preferred
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA standards, IBC, IFC, UFC, and client specifications
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to provide technical leadership and work effectively across multidisciplinary teams
Software
Proficiency with relevant fire protection design and modeling tools, preferably:
  • Revit
  • AutoSPRINK
  • HydraCAD
  • Similar fire protection design/modeling software
Project Types
