Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to lead the design and execution of fire protection systems for hyperscale data centers, government facilities, and other secure/mission-critical environments. This is a senior technical role responsible for developing fire protection strategies, leading complex designs, coordinating across engineering disciplines, and mentoring junior engineers.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the design and execution of fire protection systems for mission-critical and secure facilities
- Develop and review fire suppression, fire alarm, and life safety system designs
- Serve as a technical expert and client liaison for fire protection scopes
- Ensure designs comply with NFPA, IBC, IFC, UFC, and client-specific requirements
- Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, security professionals, and other disciplines
- Provide technical guidance and mentor junior engineers
- Support proposal development, project scoping, and scheduling
- Travel to project sites as needed, approximately 15–25%
Qualifications
- 8+ years of fire protection engineering experience
- Experience with hyperscale data centers, government, secure, or other mission-critical facilities
- Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- FPE preferred
- Strong knowledge of NFPA standards, IBC, IFC, UFC, and client specifications
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to provide technical leadership and work effectively across multidisciplinary teams
Software
Proficiency with relevant fire protection design and modeling tools, preferably:
- Revit
- AutoSPRINK
- HydraCAD
- Similar fire protection design/modeling software
Project Types
This position will primarily support hyperscale data centers, government facilities, secure facilities, and other mission-critical projects, with additional exposure to healthcare, higher education, commercial, industrial, and federal facilities.
