Fire Protection Engineer

As a Fire Protection Engineer you will work alongside a robust staff of experienced and licensed Fire Protection Engineers to develop and use your skills and experience to deliver and complete challenging and engaging buildings projects across many different markets with our Cities & Places business, in many different regions locally, nationally, and around the world. The Engineer will be directing the activities of design staff to produce drawings and calculations for fire sprinkler systems, special hazards suppression systems, fire pumps, fire alarm and mass notification, and building/life safety codes analysis.

An experienced Fire Protection Engineer with 10+ years of experience designing fire sprinkler, suppression, fire alarm, and life safety systems. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection or Mechanical Engineering (or a related field), strong knowledge of NFPA and ICC codes, and a PE license preferred. This role offers the opportunity to support complex projects across a variety of industries with occasional travel.

Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Safety Technology or other related discipline.
• At least 10 years of related professional experience.

Preferred:

• Familiarity with NFPA and ICC codes and standards
• Experience in fire sprinkler, suppression, and fire alarm system layout utilizing hydraulic calculation programs, and knowledge of NFPA Codes, and International Building and Fire Codes
• PE in any U.S. State, having passed the fire protection engineering examination.

• The Engineer will be directing the activities of design staff to produce drawings and calculations for fire sprinkler systems, special hazards suppression systems, fire pumps, fire alarm and mass notification, and building/life safety codes analysis. Previous design experience is a plus but please do not self-select yourself out of a position and all that are interested in a career in fire protection engineering are encouraged to apply.

Pay Range: $45.77/hr. - $83.10/hr.
