This role requires the ability to work independently on defined fire protection scope while coordinating closely with multi-discipline project teams.

Compensation: $115 - $150,000 *anticipated annual salary may vary based on skills, experience, qualifications and internal peer equity. The pay range listed for this position is based on the anticipated base compensation at the time of the posting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate awareness and commitment to health, safety, and environmental requirements while supporting safe project execution.
  • Develop fire protection and life safety design deliverables for industrial facilities, including studies, calculations, specifications, drawings, and construction packages.
  • Evaluate fire hazards and develop practical fire protection design solutions that meet applicable codes, standards, client requirements, and project objectives.
  • Design and review fire suppression systems, perform hydraulic calculations, and evaluate water supply requirements for fire protection systems.
  • Develop and review fire alarm, detection, notification, and related life safety system requirements in coordination with I&E and other disciplines.
  • Perform code reviews and support compliance with applicable NFPA standards, IBC, IFC, local AHJ requirements, and client standards.
  • Prepare technical specifications, support procurement packages, perform bid evaluations, and review vendor documentation for conformance with project requirements.
  • Coordinate fire protection requirements with process, mechanical, piping, civil, structural, architectural, and I&E disciplines.
  • Support mechanical engineering tasks on a limited basis when cross-training opportunities align with project needs, while maintaining fire protection as the primary area of responsibility.
  • Participate in site walks, design reviews, constructability reviews, and construction support activities, including RFIs, field changes, commissioning, testing, and acceptance support.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5+ years' experience in Fire Protection Engineering, preferably supporting industrial, manufacturing, refinery, chemical, or other process facility projects.
