We are recruiting men and women who are dedicated to helping their fellow citizens.

Candidates must complete an on-site fire academy where they will learn how to perform firefighting, medical support, and related emergency skills through a combination of classroom and practical skills. Upon completion of the fire academy, members will be assigned to fire stations. Volunteer Firefighters are scheduled shifts based upon the member’s availability each month.

This fire academy will provide the education necessary to obtain a NFPA 1001 Firefighter II Certification. There is no cost for this Fire Academy with the expectation that upon graduation, the member will volunteer as a firefighter with CVFD.
