Fire Suppression Tech

Rate: 18-25hr (rate is ranked by years of exp)

Location: Jacksonville, Florida (On-site)

Role Overview

This position requires a Fire Suppression Technician to inspect, service, test, and maintain fire suppression systems. The role involves working with fire extinguishers and kitchen hoods, and completing repairs of basic to standard complexity on system cylinders. The work is primarily conducted in and around the Jacksonville territory.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, service, test, and maintain fire suppression systems, including fire extinguishers and kitchen hoods.
• Perform hydrostatic testing and inspections on dry and C02 extinguishers.
• Conduct routine servicing, recharging, and tagging of portable fire extinguishers.
• Inspect pre-engineered systems, such as kitchen hoods, checking fusible links and ensuring operational status.
• Change out rings, tags, hoses, and other equipment as needed.
• Complete repairs of basic to standard complexity on fire extinguishers and system cylinders.
• Ensure all work complies with local fire codes.
• Collaborate with lead technicians during daily service routes.

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of 6 months of hands-on experience with fire extinguishers.
• A valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
• An understanding of fire codes.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications from fire system manufacturers.
• Experience with fire alarm inspection.
