Don't just join a department. Help build one.

We're looking for experienced fire service professionals who are ready to lead and want to be part of something from the beginning.

This is more than an opportunity to take the next step in your career. As a Fire Captain, you'll have the opportunity to help establish the leadership culture, operational standards, traditions, and expectations that will shape the department for years to come.

Why join us from the start?

  • Be a Founding Leader - Join during a defining moment and play a key role in building the foundation of a new Fire Rescue Department.
  • Shape the Culture - Help establish a culture centered on service, safety, professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and trust.
  • Develop Future Leaders - Coach, mentor, and support company officers and personnel while helping build a strong leadership pipeline.
  • Help Build the Operation - Bring your experience and perspective to the development of operational practices, expectations, and department standards.
  • Make an Immediate Impact - Your leadership and decisions will directly influence personnel, operations, and the service we provide to the community.
  • Build Something That Lasts - Help establish the standards and traditions future generations of Fire Rescue personnel will inherit.

What You'll Do

As a Fire Captain, you'll serve as a company-level leader responsible for your crew, operational readiness, and the safe and effective delivery of Fire Rescue services.

In a new department, your role goes beyond leading day-to-day operations. You'll help establish how our crews work together, train, solve problems, serve the community, and uphold the standards that will define the department.

What You'll Do

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Lead and supervise assigned Fire Rescue personnel during emergency and non-emergency operation.
  • Direct and coordinate crew activities while maintaining a strong focus on safety and operational readiness.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring, and support to members of your crew.
  • Identify operational challenges and work collaboratively to develop practical solutions
  • Build positive relationships with residents, community partners, City departments, and partner agencies
  • Help establish the standards future Fire Rescue personnel and company officers will carry forward.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for experienced fire service professionals who understand that strong company leadership starts with taking care of your crew, setting clear expectations, and leading by example.

The ideal candidate brings strong leadership skills, operational experience, sound judgment, integrity, accountability, and the ability to communicate effectively. We're looking for leaders who can develop personnel, build strong teams, make confident decisions under pressure, and create an environment where employees are supported and expected to perform at a high level.

Joining a new Fire Rescue Department also requires adaptability, collaboration, and a willingness to help create-not simply inherit-the practices, expectations, and traditions that guide the organization.

If you're ready to lead a crew, develop others, and help establish the foundation and traditions of a new Fire Rescue Department, we encourage you to apply.
