About L’Auberge Chef François

L’Auberge Chef François is seeking experienced Line Cooks to join our culinary team. We are looking for passionate culinary professionals who thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen and have experience preparing French cuisine.

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled cook who takes pride in quality, consistency, and proper execution while working in a demanding professional kitchen.

Responsibilities:

What You'll Do

  • Prepare and execute dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards.
  • Work efficiently in a high-volume kitchen while maintaining quality and consistency.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of French cooking techniques and cuisine.
  • Set up and maintain assigned station throughout service.
  • Prepare sauces, proteins, vegetables, stocks, and other components as assigned.
  • Maintain proper food handling, sanitation, and safety standards.
  • Communicate effectively with the Chef and kitchen team during service.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked workstation.
  • Work collaboratively with the culinary team to ensure smooth and timely service.
  • Assist with prep, service, breakdown, and closing duties as needed.

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • Previous professional line cook experience in a high-volume restaurant or culinary operation.
  • French cuisine experience is required.
  • Strong understanding of French cooking techniques and ingredients.
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure.
  • Strong knife skills and knowledge of proper food preparation.
  • Ability to follow recipes, specifications, and plating standards.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to food quality, cleanliness, and consistency.

The Ideal Candidate

You are a passionate culinary professional who understands the discipline required in a high-volume kitchen. You take pride in your craft, work well under pressure, and have a genuine appreciation for French cuisine and traditional culinary techniques.

If you have high-volume restaurant experience and a strong background in French cuisine, we want to meet you!

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, including throughout an entire shift.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, reach, crouch, and twist.
  • Ability to safely use knives, kitchen equipment, and other culinary tools.
  • Ability to work in a hot, humid, and fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Ability to move quickly and safely around a busy kitchen while maintaining awareness of coworkers and equipment.
  • Ability to frequently handle hot pans, pots, dishes, and food products using appropriate protective equipment.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions, including chopping, stirring, lifting, and plating.
  • Ability to maintain physical stamina and focus during high-volume periods.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures, including near ovens, grills, fryers, refrigerators, and freezers.
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
