Roles
To provide support to the Finance & Accounting Services Office on billing and cash receipting. Responsible for advising students and parents on financial matters, while working closely with the Financial Aid staff. Providing quality customer service in person, by phone, email, and/or mail.
Responsibilities
- Support and understand Northwood's Code of Ethics, Values, and Outcomes
- Answer phone and respond to emails with courtesy and accuracy
- Greet and assist internal and external customers that visit the office
- Accurately receipt in check, cash, and wire payments
- Produce and send monthly student account statements by mail and/or email
- Update student addresses in Colleague as changes are received, and according to USPS standards
- Print student and employee ID cards as needed
- Add employee and/or student meals to ID cards as needed
- Post miscellaneous charges/credits to student accounts (ex. Housing fines)
- Generate reports to verify accuracy of charges
- Enter billing codes and generate reports to verify accuracy
- Third-party billing (military and corporate)
- Applying University of the Aftermarket and SAP manual tuition charges as needed
- Working with the Financial Aid office to run process to apply scholarships and loans to student accounts
- Reviewing student accounts for accuracy and generating student refunds weekly
- Setting up and monitoring student payment plans
- Scanning checks to the bank daily
- Participate in new student orientations
Qualifications
- Have exceptional customer service skills
- Have a thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Able to learn various software applications easily
- Have an understanding of accounting and other business processes
- Have an understanding of student accounts receivable processes
- Colleague experience preferred, but not required
