Financial Planning and Analysis Manager

Our client is a public company based in Houston, Texas, and they seek to add a Financial Planning and Analysis Manager to their management team to be responsible for running the Financial Planning and Analysis function at this growing company. Support the Financial Leadership Team's efforts regarding periodic results presentations, investor presentations, and other investor communications.

Our client is a public company based in Houston, Texas, and they seek to add a Financial Planning and Analysis Manager to their management team to be responsible for running the Financial Planning and Analysis function at this growing company. The company is very young and entrepreneurial, so you must be comfortable leading AND following in addition to being very "hands on" in the day-to-day details. Will work very closely with the CFO and the Controller in supporting the C-Suite in growing and operating this company!

Financial Planning and Analysis Manager Job Description:


Ongoing Responsibilities:

1. Lead the FP&A function.
2. Lead the annual budget process.
3. Work with the financial leadership team to define and track KPIs to analyze financial and operational results and present to Executive Leadership Team.
4. Collaborate with the Financial Leadership Team to develop effective management reporting for the Board and Executive Leadership Team. 
5. Prepare periodic materials for presentation to audit & risk committee and board of directors.
6. Engage in various accounting activities to support the Controller as needed. 
7. Support the Financial Leadership Team's efforts regarding periodic results presentations, investor presentations, and other investor communications.

 
Requirements and skills:

1. B.S. degree in Accounting or Finance (C.P.A. is a plus)
2. 4-6 years minimum experience
   • Experience in Corporate Financial Planning and Budgeting after a start in public accounting is a plus.
   • Prefer experience as a Financial Planning and Analysis Manager (or Experienced Senior) in a public-company environment.
3. Advanced Excel skills are a must. NetSuite experience is a plus but not required. 
4. Must have the ability to direct and lead others and communicate effectively.
5. "Hands on" general accounting and financial reporting experience prior to gaining financial planning and analysis experience is a plus. 
6. Ability to engage in data analytics is desired.
7. High attention to detail and accuracy are required.
8. Must be a self-starter who is comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment. The company was privately held for years and recently became a public company. Must have great organization skills and be comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

1. Position is based in Houston, TX.
2. There is a hybrid schedule with the ability to work from home two days a week.
