The Idaho Department of Juvenile Corrections, Headquarters building in beautiful Downtown Boise is seeking a full-time Financial Manager to join our finance team.
This position will strategically plan, organize, direct and provide oversight to budget, accounting internal controls and risk management; and perform related work. This manager will supervise, monitor and evaluate the activities of a major financial operation, requiring the application of accounting principles, auditing theory, and industry best practices; perform supervisory duties.

Responsibilities:
Develops budget reports, financial statements and analysis for agency decision making.
Implements financial processes, procedures and policies as directed by the Division Administrator or Agency Director.
Ensures accuracy of all coding including compliance with state and federal regulations and department policies and procedures.
Oversee annual operating budgets creation and perform continual analysis and validation of multiple cost center receipts, expenses and projections to management.
Identify systems and or processes to account for department special projects.
Ensure compliance with statue, administrative rule and statewide financial policy Review and ensure the timely submission of reports and surveys for various interagency activities, statewide financial statement development closing packages, and other required financial reports.
Oversee all aspects of numerous budgets, grants and projects, direct budgetary and corrective action activity.
Assist/participate in the development of annual budget request for submission to Governor/Legislature.
Prepare budget request revisions as necessary.
Oversee budget and expenditure report training to administrators to enable them to manage their program resources.
Interpret establish procedures that ensure compliance with laws, policies, rules and regulations and financial standards.
Oversee drafting of fiscal related policies and operating procedures to maintain overall internal control.
Participate in meetings with management, professional staff, councils, committees to become informed with programs to enable formalization of budget and accounting system creation, advisory capability and management.
Research and complete requests for comparisons, reconciliations, and various information or direct requests to appropriate subordinate staff for compilation.
Oversee grants and project status maintained by assigned staff and provide direction and management information to administrators and subordinates.
Ensure grant reporting and closing is accurate and timely.
