We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our dynamic team. This is a permanent position within our reputable software engineering firm. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all financial aspects of our business, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures. This role requires an individual with a strong understanding and passion for using financial data to drive business strategy and success.

Job Details

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all company accounts and investments.
  • Create monthly and annual reports to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts.
  • Manage cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reports.
  • Supervise and manage financial department staff, including accountants and financial assistants.
  • Motivate and lead the finance team members by clarifying roles and providing helpful feedback.
  • Suggest updates and improvements for accounting systems, including payroll and invoicing.
  • Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported.
  • Establish and implement financial reporting systems to comply with government regulations and legislation.
  • Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
  • Develop budgets and financial plans for the company based on research and data reports.
  • Review all financial plans and budgets regularly to look for cost reduction opportunities.
  • Examine all financial reports and data closely to check for discrepancies.
  • Create systems to prevent errors in data collection and calculations.
  • Report to the Managing Director with timely and accurate financial information.
  • Assist the Managing Director in presenting reports to senior executives, stakeholders, and board members.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • A Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) is a plus.
  • Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation is a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a business or finance environment, with proven experience as a Financial Controller.
  • Tech-forward thinker with a willingness to learn and implement AI to improve efficiencies.
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting software; Acumatica experience is a plus.
  • Strong working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations.
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in accounting and financial management.
