Job title: Scheduling Coordinator
Job Location:  Los Angeles CA 
Job Duration: 3 months – Possible extension
Shift: 8 AM- 4:30 PM

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Scheduling Coordinator to support patient scheduling and care coordination in a healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will have direct healthcare scheduling experience and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, patient-facing setting.
The Scheduling Coordinator will work closely with patients, healthcare providers, and internal departments to ensure timely scheduling of appointments, procedures, testing, and other required medical services.
 
Responsibilities
  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, procedures, testing, and medical services.
  • Communicate with patients over the phone and in person regarding appointments, follow-ups, and scheduling needs.
  • Review patient charts, physician notes, testing requirements, and medical documentation.
  • Monitor completion of required testing and services and follow up as needed.
  • Coordinate with clinicians, healthcare providers, and ancillary departments.
  • Verify financial clearance and authorization for scheduled services.
  • Collect and coordinate testing results and provider documentation.
  • Resolve scheduling issues and provide timely support to patients and staff.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Participate in team meetings and support process improvement initiatives.
  • Utilize EMR/EHR systems and other healthcare scheduling platforms.
 Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in a hospital, medical center, specialty clinic, or similar healthcare environment.
  • Direct healthcare scheduling experience is required.
  • Experience scheduling patient appointments, procedures, testing, and other medical services.
  • Strong patient communication skills, both over the phone and in person.
  • Experience reviewing patient charts, physician notes, and medical documentation.
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and healthcare scheduling platforms.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
 Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual fluency strongly preferred.
  • Associate's Degree strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Experience with transplant patients or the transplant process is a strong plus but not required.
