Description

Our client, a manufacturing company based in Scranton, is seeking a Financial Analyst for a contract engagement supporting its finance team through a system transition. This role will focus on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for multiple production facilities during a period of increased reporting demands.

The position works closely with plant controllers and the FP&A team to prepare monthly financial packages, track capital expenditures, and support cost accounting activities. The ideal candidate has manufacturing finance experience and is comfortable working with large datasets across ERP and spreadsheet-based tools.

This is an on-site contract role with the potential to extend based on business needs and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for plant leadership
  • Build and maintain budget and forecast models across multiple cost centers
  • Analyze production costs and identify variances against budget
  • Support month-end close activities including journal entries and accruals
  • Track capital expenditure requests and monitor project spend against budget
  • Partner with plant controllers to improve reporting accuracy
  • Assist with ad hoc financial analysis requested by senior leadership
  • Reconcile inventory and cost of goods sold accounts monthly

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • 4 or more years of financial analysis experience, manufacturing preferred
  • Strong Excel skills including pivot tables and financial modeling
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle
  • Working knowledge of cost accounting principles
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience presenting financial data to non-finance stakeholders
