Position Summary:
Albright College Institute of Nonprofit and Civic Administration (INCA) is a financial and operations consultant providing outsourced financial services for governmental entities, including municipalities and nonprofits. We provide efficient and timely public-sector financial reporting and operational deliverables for our clients, focusing on state and federal reporting, grants management, supervision of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, month-end close, cash and investment management, audit and budget preparation and reporting and application implementation.
This is a part-time temporary consulting role to provide fractional services to nonprofits and governmental entities under the supervision of Finance Manager of Institute of Nonprofit and Civic Administration. Onsite services in the role may be 1-3 days remote or onsite depending on the client's needs and systems.
Essential Job Functions:
Assisting clients with supporting financial operations for municipalities and nonprofits including:
Qualifications /Prerequisites
SKILLS - Knowledge / Abilities
Comprehensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the practices of Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB)
Comprehensive knowledge of budget development and reporting
Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, codes, regulations, and reporting requirements related to municipal accounting and finance administration
Knowledge & proficiency of information systems and related applications (MS Office / Excel / Word)
Ability to manage complex projects and adapt to changing circumstances
Ability to continuously create new efficiencies
Ability to prepare concise reports and make effective oral and written presentations
Ability to develop effective relationships with management staff, employees, governmental agencies, and service providers doing business with the municipality
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to demonstrate honesty and convey integrity to maintain public trust
Possession of current and valid PA Driver's License
Employment Experience
Governmental accounting and/or auditing experience preferred
Education
Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting or related field preferred
Working Conditions
Work is performed at client offices and involves frequent interruptions. Work involves trouble shooting and is in a high paced environment.
The work will be assigned by the Finance Manager.
