Financial Analyst – Merchant Services & Pricing

Location: Tempe, AZ
Schedule: Hybrid – 3 days onsite per week

About the Opportunity

A leading financial services organization is seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to support its Merchant Services business in Tempe, AZ. This is a high-visibility opportunity for an analytical professional who enjoys working with financial data, evaluating pricing strategies, and providing insights that directly influence client relationships, profitability, and business growth.

This 12-month contract offers potential for conversion and provides the opportunity to work closely with Sales, Relationship Management, Product, Operations, and Risk teams within a large, established financial services environment.

What You'll Do

• Analyze merchant pricing requests and provide data-driven financial recommendations.
• Evaluate transaction volumes, processing trends, seasonality, revenue, expenses, and other business factors to determine financial impact and profitability.
• Perform pricing, revenue, cost, and profitability analysis to support business decisions.
• Partner with Sales and Relationship Managers to evaluate pricing opportunities for new and existing merchant clients.
• Analyze merchant processing costs, including interchange, assessments, processing fees, and related pricing components.
• Build and maintain financial models, reports, and analytical tools using Microsoft Excel.
• Utilize pricing, reporting, and business intelligence tools to identify trends and opportunities.
• Balance competitive pricing strategies with profitability, operational, risk, and compliance considerations.
• Manage multiple pricing and analytical requests while meeting established deadlines.
• Clearly communicate findings and recommendations to internal business partners.

What We're Looking For

• 4+ years of experience in Merchant Services, Payments, Financial Services, Operations, Pricing, Finance, or a related analytical field.
• Strong experience analyzing financial, operational, or business data and developing recommendations based on findings.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, reporting, and financial modeling.
• Experience with pricing analysis, financial analysis, revenue analysis, or profitability assessment.
• Understanding of merchant pricing concepts, including interchange, assessments, processing fees, and related cost structures.
• Experience working with pricing, reporting, financial modeling, or business intelligence tools.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Previous experience specifically within Merchant Services or Payments pricing and strategy.
• Understanding of payment network regulations and industry practices.
• Experience partnering with Sales, Relationship Management, Product, Operations, or Risk teams.
• Comfortable participating in calls with both internal business partners and external customers.
