We are partnering with a growing organization in Indianapolis to identify an experienced Financial Analyst for a consulting engagement. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys diving into complex data, uncovering meaningful business insights, and influencing strategic decision-making across multiple areas of the organization.

In this role, you will serve as a key business partner to finance and operational leadership teams, helping drive financial performance through detailed analysis, forecasting, reporting, and process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate combines strong technical finance skills with the ability to communicate findings clearly and provide actionable recommendations that support organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, dashboards, and management reporting packages

  • Support the budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes, including the development of financial projections and scenario analysis

  • Conduct detailed variance analysis to identify trends, explain financial results, and provide recommendations to leadership

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance financial models used for revenue forecasting, expense management, profitability analysis, and strategic planning

  • Analyze business performance by reviewing financial statements, operational metrics, KPIs, and market trends

  • Partner with department leaders to evaluate financial performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase profitability

  • Support month-end and year-end close activities by collaborating with accounting teams to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data

  • Gather, consolidate, and interpret large data sets from multiple systems and sources to provide meaningful insights

  • Prepare executive-level presentations, board reporting materials, and ad hoc analyses for leadership teams

  • Monitor key financial and operational metrics, proactively identifying risks, opportunities, and emerging trends

  • Assist with cash flow forecasting, working capital analysis, and financial performance monitoring

  • Evaluate existing reporting processes and recommend improvements to enhance automation, reporting accuracy, and overall efficiency

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with accounting, operations, procurement, sales, and leadership teams on various financial initiatives

  • Support special projects including process improvement efforts, systems implementations, profitability studies, and strategic business initiatives

  • Research financial trends, industry benchmarks, and business performance drivers to support decision-making

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field

  • 3+ years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, corporate finance, accounting, consulting, or a related discipline

  • Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, financial statement analysis, and variance analysis

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH functions, financial modeling, and complex data analysis

  • Experience creating financial models, dashboards, and management reporting packages

  • Ability to analyze large volumes of data, identify trends, and translate findings into actionable business recommendations

  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present financial information to both finance and non-finance stakeholders

  • Experience working with ERP systems, accounting software, and financial reporting tools

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously

  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within manufacturing, distribution, healthcare, logistics, professional services, or multi-entity business environments

  • Proficiency with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or other business intelligence and reporting tools

  • Experience supporting system implementations, reporting automation, or process improvement initiatives

  • Exposure to financial planning and analysis (FP&A) functions in a mid-size or large organization

  • Understanding of KPI development, business performance metrics, and operational analytics

  • MBA, CPA, CFA, CMA, or other advanced finance/accounting credentials preferred but not required

Pay Details: $43.00 to $45.00 per hour
