THE DEPARTMENT
The Finance Department serves as a strategic and operational hub for the City, guiding how resources are planned, managed, and deployed across all departments. It establishes financial policies and controls that support consistent, compliant use of public funds.
The department oversees the City's accounting system, payroll, procurement processes, business licensing, and the collection and monitoring of key revenues that fund City services. Finance also provides financial planning, risk mitigation, and advisory support to departments as they navigate operational and capital priorities.
Excluding transfers between funds, the City's total adopted appropriated budget for FY2026-27, is $302 million. With a staff of 16 FTEs, the Finance Department is a strategic business partner to every City department and is central to City operations.
