Financial Analyst

Venteon Finance is currently seeking a Financial Reporting Analyst for a leading manufacturing company located in the Detroit area. This position is responsible for supporting the Corporate Finance organization's technical accounting and SEC reporting activities. Maintain records of organization's financial activity in accordance with GAAP, organizational standards, and in compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

Requirements of the Financial Reporting Analyst

• Bachelor s Degree in Accounting

• 2 4 years of experience in Accounting/Financial Reporting

• Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial statements.

• Self-starter with an attention to detail and an ability to complete projects start-to-finish.

• Advanced PC proficiency

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities of the Financial Reporting Analyst

• Perform technical accounting research and assist in the preparation of accounting memoranda.

• Assist with the analysis and implementation of new accounting standards, including the development and implementation of new internal controls.

• Participate in the preparation of the financial statements and footnotes for quarterly and annual filings with the SEC.

• Assist with completion of Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 testing.

• Analyze and tie-out reports from third-party service providers (pension/OBEP, goodwill impairment, etc.).
