    Description

    Our Client, a Health Insurance company, is looking for a Financial Analyst for their Columbia, MD/Hybrid location.

    Responsibilities:

    • 25% Prepares various accounting and financial reports, analyzes and verifies data and financial reports to produce the financial results for assigned business units and challenge accounting processes.
    • 25% Investigates and researches problem account reconciliation on an as-assigned basis in order to improve controls over general ledger, subsidiary ledgers, and balance sheet activity. Analyzes trends, calculates and verifies data. Interfaces with other areas to develop reporting specifications, methods and procedures, and prioritizes requests.
    • 25% Performs moderately to complex analysis, gathers, compiles and interprets financial data to ensure compliance with applicable regulations or guidelines, identify trends and provide insight for decision making. Analyzes and prepare journal entries, monthly account reconciliation, responding to internal and external auditors, management, and finance department inquiries.
    • 25% Responds to manager, director, and executive inquiries, handles special requests, researches moderately complex accounting issues. Prepares financial data for presentation to upper management.

    Requirements:

    • Education Level: Bachelor's Degree
    • Education Details: Accounting, Finance, related field or equivalent technical training
    • Experience: 3 years Accounting/financial experience. Good understanding of GAAP, STAT, and federal regulations.
    • In Lieu of Education
    • In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.
    • Preferred Qualifications
    • Healthcare insurance industry experience strongly preferred.
    • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Basic knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data., Proficient
    • Proficient with financial analysis software (i.e., Delphi Technology, Oracle E-Business Suite Financials, Longview)., Proficient
    • Proficient with database entry and query software., Proficient
    • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal., Proficient
    • The incumbent is required to immediately disclose any debarment, exclusion, or other event that makes them ineligible to perform work directly or indirectly on client programs.
    • Must be able to effectively work in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities, deadlines, and workloads that can be variable for long periods of time.
    • Must be able to meet established deadlines and handle multiple customer service demands from internal and external customers, within set expectations for service excellence.
    • Must be able to effectively communicate and provide positive customer service to every internal and external customer, including customers who may be demanding or otherwise challenging.
