Client: Insurance Firm
Job Title: Financial Analyst
Duration: 06-12 Months (Extension/Conversion will be based on performance)
Location: Cedar Rapids, IA 52499 - Hybrid 
Pay Range: ($40 - $45) on an hourly basis.
Note: Relocation is allowed (on your own)
 
About the Role:
  • We are seeking a Lead Financial Analyst to support financial reporting and analysis for the Life Insurance product line.
  • This role will partner with Finance, Accounting, Actuarial, and Business teams to analyze quarterly financial results, investigate variances, prepare management reports, and support financial close activities.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong financial reporting and analytical experience, along with knowledge of IFRS and the insurance or financial services industry.
Requirements:
  • Experience in financial reporting, financial analysis, or FP&A
  • Strong experience preparing quarterly financial statements and management reports
  • Ability to analyze financial results, identify trends, and explain variances
  • Knowledge of IFRS 17 reporting; IFRS 17 experience is required.
  • Understanding of regulatory or capital reporting within financial services
  • Experience supporting monthly or quarterly financial close processes
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial reporting or ERP systems such as S A P, Ora_cle, or Hyperion
  • Insurance or broader financial services experience preferred
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare quarterly financial statements, management reports, and reporting deliverables
  • Analyze financial results and investigate significant trends and variances
  • Support monthly and quarterly financial close processes
  • Assist with IFRS and capital reporting activities
  • Partner with Finance, Accounting, Actuarial, and Business teams to validate and interpret financial results
  • Communicate financial insights and reporting outcomes to key stakeholders
  • Support process improvements and reporting efficiency initiatives.
