    Morehead State University is seeking a Financial Aid Systems and Compliance Coordinator to join the Financial Aid & Scholarships team. The anticipated start date is October 16, 2026.

    This position assists and supports the entry of financial aid data. The Financial Aid Systems and Compliance Officer is responsible for adhering to appropriate disbursal, record keeping, and reporting procedures as well as the data entry necessary to support the functions of the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships. This position must ensure compliance with the university, state, and federal financial aid regulations and procedures. They are responsible for providing research data and analysis to federal, state, and institutional agencies. This position acts as liaison to both internal and external auditors and is responsible for supplying the data requested. During peak periods, such as the beginning of each semester, this position assists Financial Aid Counselors with student inquiries and related financial aid activities. The position also processes student Personnel Action Requests (PARs) to verify federal work-study eligibility and available funding.

    About the Position

    As the Financial Aid Systems and Compliance Coordinator you will:

    • Assist with import and data entry of financial aid information into the Colleague information system and resulting communication to applicants and students.
    • Provide excellent service ensuring timely, efficient and accurate processing and appropriate response to internal and external customers.
    • Provide data and report to various office personnel, university offices, and external agencies, including FISAP, IPEDS, National Student Clearinghouse, and various reports and surveys.
    • Perform research and analysis of financial aid data for the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships and other offices on campus that use financial aid related data.
    • Liaison for internal and external auditors, providing data and documentation of compliance.
    • Perform research and analysis of Title IV regulations to ensure compliance.
    • Query database and provide internal control and compliance.
    • Assist with the coordinating the electronic exchange of financial aid application data to and from the Department of Education, including the uploading of this information to Colleague, the subsequent communication of information to students and the export of data to Common Origination and Disbursement website.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in Financial Aid; continually update and refine rules and procedures in Colleague.
    • Assist, implement, and manage for the annual setup and continual updating (including the testing of patches and updates) of the Financial Aid packaging system providing aid offers to 8,000-12,000 students annually.
    • Maintain the security class and user information for Financial Aid.
    • Assist with counseling students and families, awarding, reporting, and reconciliation of various financial aid programs during peak busy seasons.
    • Process all student PARs to verify federal work-study eligibility and identify award amounts.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Candidates must meet the following requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree required.
    • Demonstrated experience in customer service and problem solving.
    • Must have ability to analyze and interpret data.
    • Experience and technical expertise with word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentation, integrated information systems, and associated hardware.
    • Strong analytical and communication skills.
    • Ability to work autonomously.

    Preferred Qualifications

    The following qualifications are preferred but are not required:

    • Six (6) months of Financial Aid or related experience.
    • Experience with federal IV funds and regulations.
    • Experience with Colleague and DOE software systems.

    Work is characterized by very frequent contacts with office and University personnel, both personally and by phone. A staff member must work well with all other members of the staff.
