The Staten Island Workforce1 Career Center is partnering with New York Life to find qualified candidates for a Financial Advisor position in Staten Island, NY. Position Overview:

The Financial Advisor works directly with clients to understand their financial needs and goals, including retirement planning, protection, and wealth-building strategies. The role recommends life insurance and related financial products based on client needs while educating clients on available products and planning strategies. Financial Advisors build and maintain a personal client base through networking, referrals, outreach, and relationship development. The role also includes ongoing client support, financial plan reviews, training, licensing, and maintaining professional and compliance standards.

 

This position is located in Staten Island, New York.

 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prospect and develop new client relationships through networking, referrals, and outreach.
  • Meet with clients to assess financial goals, needs, and risk tolerance.
  • Recommend and sell appropriate financial solutions, including life insurance, annuities, and investments.
  • Guide clients through the financial planning and sales process.
  • Maintain ongoing client relationships and provide continued service and support.
  • Build and manage a personal book of business.
  • Stay current on financial products, industry trends, and compliance requirements.
  • Complete required training and obtain and maintain professional licenses.
  • Track performance metrics and work toward sales goals and targets.
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and mentorship programs.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least 1 year of work experience required including proven sales experience or demonstrated ability to sell.
  • Advanced sales experience, particularly full-cycle client sales, is highly preferred.
  • Relationship-focused banking or client-facing sales experience is preferred.
  • Entrepreneurial or business ownership experience is valued.
  • Experience in fast-paced, results-driven environments is preferred.
  • Basic financial knowledge or willingness to learn financial products and financial planning concepts.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and client engagement skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to build and manage client relationships.
Pay Range: USD $22.05 - USD $22.05 /Hr.
