As a Financial Specialist with Lutheran Adoption Services (LAS), you'll play a vital role in supporting Michigan's adoption system through financial stewardship, data management, and program compliance.

What You'll Do

As a Financial Specialist, you'll serve as a key resource supporting adoption operations, financial processes, and program reporting by:

• Managing accounts receivable activities, billing, payment tracking, and account reconciliation.
• Preparing and monitoring state and third-party adoption-related billings.
• Tracking contracts, funding sources, and reimbursement requirements.
• Maintaining accurate financial, case, and statistical records.
• Utilizing MiSACWIS and other systems to verify information, process billing, and support reporting.
• Analyzing adoption and placement data to provide meaningful reports and projections.
• Partnering with program leadership to support compliance with State of Michigan requirements.
• Providing financial and administrative support for program operations and special initiatives.
• Building positive working relationships with government agencies, community partners, and stakeholders.

We're looking for someone who combines strong accounting and analytical skills with a passion for organization and continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Two years of accounting, accounts receivable, billing, or financial support experience.
• Experience working in human services, child welfare, adoption, healthcare, or nonprofit environments is a plus.
• Knowledge of MiSACWIS and MDHHS systems is preferred.
