Finance SpecialistMetro Elevator Colorado, Inc. • Denver, COJob Title:Finance Specialist at Metro Elevator Colorado, Inc.Location:Must reside within a one-hour commute of Metro Denver; would report to the Metro Elevator Colorado office.This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of three (3) days per week working from the office.Job Summary:As the Finance Specialist at Metro Elevator Colorado, Inc., you will report directly to the division President. This role owns the day-to-day accounting, financial, payroll, cash management, and administrative processes that keep the division operating efficiently and accurately, including cash management, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and financial reporting. With a detail-oriented and highly organized approach, and a strong grasp of core accounting principles, you will ensure that our financial and administrative processes are accurate, efficient, and aligned with the division's overall objectives, contributing to our operational success and financial health.Employment Status/Expectations:Full TimeJob Responsibilities (including, but not limited to): Cash Management, Accounts Payable & TreasuryProcesses vendor invoices, purchase orders, and records paymentsPrepares and posts receipts, deposits, invoices, refunds, and other standard bookkeeping transactionsReviews and processes employee expense reimbursementsExecutes monthly credit card processing, including coding, approval, reconciliation, and importing transactions into the accounting systemMonitors daily cash balances and short-term cash positionProcesses ACH and bill payments Billing & Accounts ReceivableManages time-and-material billing, recurring maintenance/contract billing, and billing for modernization, construction, and large repair projectsReviews revenue postings for accuracyPerforms analysis of customer accountsReviews accounts receivable aging and manages collection activities Financial Reporting & General AccountingReconciles general ledger accountsPerforms bank reconciliationsReviews expense coding, including job and material allocationsPrepares and posts standard journal entriesCoordinates and executes month-end close procedures and completes the month-end closing checklistDevelops and prepares financial and operational reports using company systemsAnalyzes financial results and identifies trends or variances to support division leadership decision-makingPrepares and files sales tax returns Payroll AdministrationNew Hire & Employee ChangesManages payroll-related onboarding, including tax withholding forms, direct deposit setup, and benefits enrollmentProcesses payroll-related employee terminationsPayroll ProcessingWorks with the Director of Operations to review mechanic timecardsProcesses weekly payroll for union and non-union employeesProcesses weekly union 401(k) contributionsMaintains union vacation and benefit trackingProcesses monthly union benefit paymentsRecords payroll journal entries in the accounting system Human Resources & Employee AdministrationCoordinates employee onboarding logistics, including vehicles, fuel cards, phones, email accounts, and other required equipment and system accessMaintains employee personnel documentationCoordinates employee onboarding and offboarding activities Office & Administrative SupportProvides administrative support to company leadership and field mechanicsHandles general office administration and special projects as assigned Fleet AdministrationAdministers the fleet vehicle platform on the administrative sideProcesses fleet-related payments, insurance, and registrationQualifications:2+ years of progressively responsible accounting, bookkeeping, or finance experience, along with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a similar field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
