Our Opportunity:

Chewy is seeking a highly motivated, analytical, and enthusiastic Finance Manager to join our Commercial Finance Consumables team. Combining an understanding of finance and practical knowledge of financial statements, while using data to make-and-drive decisions, this candidate will perform various financial planning and analysis processes to support key strategic decisions, drive Chewy Consumables’ growth and ensure financial objectives are achieved.

What You’ll Do:

  • Perform modeling and analytics required to synthesize large sets of data and produce concise outputs to convey recommendations and/or conclusions to leadership

  • Aid in the reporting and financial performance management frameworks for the business and help define key metrics and performance indicators to evaluate overall business performance

  • Partner cross-functionally with Category Finance, Consumables Merchandising, Product, Marketing, Supply Chain, Accounting, and the broader Chewy Finance team to understand business performance, align on key drivers, and support decision-making

  • Perform intraperiod forecasting, including risk and opportunity identification, tracking, and communication, while providing clear variance analysis across actuals, plan, and forecast.

  • Support strategic planning, target setting, and quarterly and annual planning processes, building and enhancing financial models to improve planning, forecasting, and performance tracking

  • Drive continuous improvement in forecasting accuracy, reporting quality, and process efficiency through simplification, standardization, and automation

  • Manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high standard of accuracy, analytical rigor, and clarity

  • Provide variance analysis across actuals, plan, and forecast, with clear explanations of underlying drivers and trends.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field required.

  • 5+ years of relevant experience (FP&A, Financial Analysis, Corporate Finance, or similar).

  • Strong understanding of financial statements, P&L mechanics, and forecasting processes.

  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and performance reporting.

  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; experience working with large datasets.

  • Ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights for business leaders.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and ability to connect drivers to outcomes.

  • Experience supporting cross-functional stakeholders in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Experience with SQL or other data querying tools preferred.

  • Ability to think creatively, be a self-starter, work independently, deal with ambiguity, and meet tight deadlines / prioritize changing workloads

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present financial insights.

The base salary range for this role is $100,000 - $160,000.00.
  • The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant. C08+ positions may also be eligible for annual bonus.
