    Position Overview

We're looking for an experienced Finance Manager to lead the day-to-day Accounting and Finance function at TSS.

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing the accounting team while remaining close to the numbers. You'll own the monthly close process, financial reporting, revenue recognition, payroll, commissions, accounts receivable, financial controls, and the day-to-day performance of the Accounting team.

Working closely with executive leadership, you'll provide accurate financial information, identify opportunities for operational improvements, and help build a finance function capable of supporting the agency's continued growth.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys improving systems, developing people, and building scalable finance processes without losing attention to detail.

    Core  Responsibilities

    • Lead, mentor, and develop the Accounting team across Billing, Collections, Staff Accounting, and Accounting Operations.
    • Own the monthly close process, ensuring financial statements are accurate, complete, and delivered on time.
    • Review the Profit & Loss Statement, Balance Sheet, reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules to ensure accuracy.
    • Oversee monthly revenue recognition and ensure revenue is recognized accurately and in accordance with company policy.
    • Partner with Billing and Operations to resolve discrepancies between campaign activity, invoicing, and recognized revenue.
    • Oversee payroll and commission calculations, ensuring accurate and timely processing each pay period.
    • Monitor accounts receivable, collections, cash flow, and billing performance while ensuring strong financial discipline across the business.
    • Partner with executive leadership on budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, headcount planning, and long-term financial modeling.
    • Build and maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, documentation, and audit-ready financial records.
    • Identify opportunities to automate workflows, improve financial systems, and increase the efficiency and scalability of the Finance function.
    • Develop KPIs, dashboards, and reporting that provide leadership with meaningful visibility into business performance.
    • Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, continuous improvement, and professional development across the Finance team.

    Experience Required

    • 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including leadership responsibilities.
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
    • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, month-end close, revenue recognition, and internal controls.
    • Experience leading and developing accounting teams in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
    • Advanced experience with QuickBooks (or similar ERP/accounting systems) and Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
    • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with outstanding attention to detail.

    Nice to Have

    • CPA designation (active or inactive).
    • Experience within a services business, marketing agency, talent management, advertising, or media company.
    • Experience with commission accounting, payroll administration, and multi-entity accounting.
    • Experience implementing accounting systems, automation tools, or process improvements.
    • Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and executive financial reporting.

    What Success Looks Like

    • Accurate, timely monthly financial reporting with a predictable month-end close.
    • Revenue recognition, payroll, commissions, and accounts receivable operating accurately and efficiently.
    • A high-performing Accounting team with clear ownership, accountability, and measurable KPIs.
    • Leadership has reliable financial reporting and actionable insights to support decision-making.
    • Finance processes continue to become more scalable through automation, documentation, and operational improvements.
    • Strong financial controls are maintained while supporting the continued growth of the business.
