    Description

America is critically deficient in production of defensive munitions- we currently produce shipborne interceptors in the few hundreds per year while our adversaries are producing offensive threats in the tens of thousands per year. Furientis was started to help solve this problem- introducing a new class of cost-effective, high production rate, interceptor missiles. We're seeking motivated individuals who internalize this problem and are eager to apply their past experience in similar industries (aerospace, defense, automotive/racing, robotics) and out of the box thinking to solve this problem for the US and its allies.

    About the Role

We are looking for a Finance Manager to be a hands-on financial partner to our engineers and senior leadership. You will own budgeting, forecasting, P&L management, capital planning, and financial analysis while building many of these capabilities from the ground up.

This is not a role where you inherit a finished FP&A machine. Some data will be messy, processes will be manual, and the right model or dashboard may not exist yet. You will need to figure out what the business needs, build it, and continuously improve it as the company grows.

You should be equally comfortable building a model yourself, challenging an investment decision, and creating a lightweight process where none existed before.

    What You'll Do

    • Serve as the finance lead and strategic partner to engineers and senior leaders.
    • Build and own the company's core budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes as the organization scales.
    • Own financial models for P&L, headcount, operating expenses, capital investments, and long-range planning.
    • Develop the KPIs, dashboards, and reporting leadership needs to understand business performance and make decisions.
    • Lead capital planning and help evaluate major investments across facilities, equipment, infrastructure, and other company priorities.
    • Turn incomplete or messy financial and operational data into useful analysis, identifying what matters rather than waiting for perfect information.
    • Build business cases and help leadership make trade-offs across hiring, capital, operating spend, and strategic investments.
    • Partner across engineering, operations, supply chain, facilities, and program management to understand cost drivers and improve financial performance.
    • Build and improve finance systems, tools, and processes with an emphasis on automation, accuracy, and keeping the organization lightweight.
    • Produce clear financial analysis and recommendations for executive leadership.

    Skills We're Hiring For

    • B.A. or B.S. in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field.
    • 7+ years of FP&A, strategic finance, business finance, or related experience.
    • Strong financial modeling skills and experience owning budgeting, forecasting, P&L analysis, and financial planning.
    • Experience evaluating capital investments or managing capital planning is strongly preferred.
    • Comfortable operating in a startup or similarly fast-moving environment where processes are incomplete and priorities change quickly.
    • A builder's mindset. You can identify what is missing, create a practical first version, and improve it rather than waiting for perfect requirements.
    • Strong business judgment and the ability to turn financial analysis into clear recommendations.
    • Able to communicate effectively with executives as well as engineering, operations, and other non-finance teams.
    • Highly analytical, resourceful, and comfortable working independently with imperfect information.
    • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with financial planning, ERP, or business intelligence tools.

    Bonus Points For

    • Experience in aerospace and defense, manufacturing, technology, or another operationally complex startup environment.
    • Experience building or scaling an FP&A or business finance function.
    • Experience with facilities, infrastructure, or significant capital investment planning.
    • Experience in a U.S. Government contracting environment, including familiarity with FAR and CAS.
    • MBA, CPA, or advanced finance or accounting degree.
    • Experience with Anaplan, NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or similar systems.
    • Experience introducing automation, AI, or modern data tooling into finance workflows.
