Finance Manager Global Leadership Academy Charter School A Global Academies School Preparing Future Leaders of the WorldPosition TitleFinance ManagerReports ToChief Executive OfficerPosition TypeFull-Time, 12-Month, SalariedPosition SummaryThe Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial health, compliance, and sustainability of the organization. This role ensures adherence to Pennsylvania state fiscal requirements, charter school regulations, and audit standards while leading budgeting, reporting, and internal controls. The Finance Manager partners with leadership to support strategic planning and maintain strong financial accountability across all campuses.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management & OversightLead development and management of the annual operating budgetMonitor cash flow, expenditures, and financial performanceOversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functionsPrepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reportsState Compliance & Regulatory ReportingEnsure compliance with Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) financial reporting requirementsPrepare and submit required reports (e.g., AFR – Annual Financial Report, budget submissions, and other state filings)Monitor compliance with charter school funding regulations and guidelinesStay current on changes in state and local financial regulations impacting charter schoolsAudit & Fiscal AccountabilityLead coordination of annual independent financial auditsServe as primary liaison with external auditors and regulatory agenciesEnsure readiness for state audits, federal program audits, and charter authorizer reviewsMaintain audit schedules, documentation, and corrective action plansStrengthen internal controls to ensure audit compliance and minimize findingsInternal Controls & Financial SystemsDevelop, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard assetsEnsure proper segregation of duties and financial proceduresUtilize QuickBooks and other systems for accurate financial tracking and reportingStrategic Financial PlanningSupport financial forecasting and long-term sustainability planningProvide financial analysis and recommendations to leadershipAlign financial strategies with organizational growth and expansion plansGrants & Fund ManagementTrack and manage grant funding, including federal, state, and private sourcesEnsure compliance with grant-specific fiscal requirements and reportingMonitor restricted funds and ensure proper allocation and usageProfessional QualificationsBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (required)Minimum of five (5) years of experience in finance or accountingStrong knowledge of budgeting, financial reporting, and internal controlsDemonstrated experience with audits and regulatory complianceProficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office SuiteSkills & CompetenciesStrong analytical and financial management skillsHigh attention to detail and accuracyAbility to manage multiple deadlines, especially regulatory reporting timelinesStrong written and verbal communication skillsIntegrity and commitment to fiscal accountability and transparencyPreferred QualificationsExperience in Pennsylvania charter school finance or public education financeFamiliarity with PDE reporting systems and requirementsExperience with fund accounting and federal programs (e.g., Title funding)CPA or advanced financial certification (preferred)Additional InformationAnticipated start date: JulyWhy Join Global Leadership Academy?Global Leadership Academy is committed to strong financial stewardship as a foundation for academic excellence.
