Consults with leadership and other financial personnel on long-range forecasts of revenues, expenditures, demands for services, and other financial/business issues.

Position Title: Finance Business Analyst
Location: Phoenix, Arizona 85003 - Onsite
Duration: 12 month contract

Position Description
Finance/Business Analyst: Journey-level to Senior Finance/Accounting Professional who uses advanced level professional knowledge, discretion, and independent judgment. (Bachelors + 2 Years Professional Experience)    
 
Skills Required

• Analyzes, develops, maintains, and reports a department's budget and strategic plan.
• Researches budget and financial matters;develops budget and staffing projections.
• Works closely with the Budget Office to prepare and submit the department’s annual budget, forecast staffing, costs, etc.
• Analyzes department budget expenditures.
• Monitors the department's budget performance, including projection analysis, position control analysis, and board agenda item review.
• Consults with leadership and other financial personnel on long-range forecasts of revenues, expenditures, demands for services, and other financial/business issues.
• Analyzes departmental financial statements for accuracy, reasonableness, and adherence to budgetary policy and related standards and laws.
• Assists in developing goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and work standards.
• May work in various areas, including financial analysis, planning and budgeting, and/or cost accounting.
• Analyzes and quantifies various processes and procedures and implements procedural changes.
• Performs other duties as assigned.  

            
Experience Required  

• Two (2) years of professional experience in accounting or finance, or 6 years of professional experience if candidate doesn't hold degree.
• Postgraduate degrees or professional level-related experience may substitute for the education or experience on a year-for-year basis.

 
Education Required

• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field.
• Postgraduate degrees or professional level-related experience may substitute for the education or experience on a year-for-year basis.
