Finance Assistant – Full-Time

Parent Cooperative Community (PCC)
Sacramento, CA | $26–$28/hour | Full-Time: 30+ hrs/week | Monday–Friday, generally between 9:30 AM–5:30 PM


About the Role

Parent Cooperative Community (PCC) is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our Finance Department. In this role, you'll work closely with our Finance Director to support the day-to-day financial operations and help maintain accurate, organized, and timely financials information. 


The Finance Assistant will support a variety of accounting and administrative functions, including accounts receivable, billing, expense, and reimbursement processing, financial records, and follow-up with internal partners. This role will also help ensure financial tasks, documentation, and deadlines are properly tracked, and completed. We are searching for someone who has strong attention to detail, ability to work independently, and is comfortable with following up proactively. 


This position is well suited for someone who can bring their existing finance or accounting experience to PCC while contributing to the continued organization and development of our financial processes.



What You'll Do

  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
  • Review and code expenses using QuickBooks Online, Excel, and Expensify
  • Assist with payroll input, reimbursements, mileage, and financial tracking
  • Maintain accurate financial records, spreadsheets, and documentation
  • Follow up with counties, agencies, vendors, and partners regarding invoices and documentation
  • Support the development and implementation of Medi-Cal billing workflows
  • Research and organize billing requirements and supporting documentation
  • Identify issues, research solutions, and proactively communicate concerns
  • Provide administrative and project support to the Finance Director

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in finance, accounting, bookkeeping, billing, or accounts receivable
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort working with financial data
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online or similar accounting software
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
  • Ability to work independently, follow up proactively, and ask questions when needed
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information professionally

Preferred Experience

Experience with any of the following is strongly preferred:

  • Medi-Cal or medical billing
  • Healthcare revenue cycle
  • Accounts receivable
  • Accounts payable
  • Public accounting or CPA firm
  • Nonprofit finance

CPA certification is not required.
