This role is responsible for maintaining banking relationships, ensuring proper stewardship of restricted and grant funds, coordinating budgeting and forecasting processes, and preparing financial reporting for leadership and the Board. Essential Functions:Treasury & Cash ManagementMaintain banking relationships, including coordination with financial institutions and support for account administration and servicesMonitor daily cash balances and ensure adequate liquidity across operating and restricted accountsEnsure proper segregation, tracking, and reporting of restricted cash funds in accordance with donor intent and grant requirementsTransfer funds between operating, restricted, and designated accounts as appropriate to support organizational needs and compliance requirementsAssist in managing cash flow timing related to grant funding, contributions, and program expendituresFinancial Planning & AnalysisCoordinate the annual organizational budgeting process, including gathering inputs, maintaining templates, and facilitating consolidationCoordinate quarterly forecast updates and maintain financial projectionsAnalyze budget-to-actual variances and provide insights to leadershipFinancial ReportingPrepare the monthly financial reporting package for the Board of Directors and Executive CommitteeDevelop and maintain reporting that clearly communicates financial performance, including program-level and fund-level reportingEnsure consistency and accuracy between internal financial reports and external reporting requirementsAnalysis & Decision SupportProvide ad hoc financial analysis to support organizational operations, programs, and strategic initiativesAnalyze trends in revenue (donations, grants, earned income) and expensesSupport leadership in evaluating financial sustainability and program performanceProcess, Controls & ComplianceMaintain documentation of treasury, budgeting, and reporting processes and proceduresSupport internal controls related to cash handling, fund restrictions, and financial reportingAssist with audit requests related to cash, grants, and financial planning activitiesEnsure adherence to nonprofit accounting standards and regulatory requirementsCollaboration & Continuous ImprovementWork cross-functionally with accounting, development, and program teamsSupport alignment between financial data, donor reporting, and program outcomesIdentify opportunities to improve reporting, forecasting accuracy, and cash management practicesStay current on nonprofit finance trends, fund accounting practices, and compliance requirements Required Education & Experience:Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field2–5 years of experience in finance, treasury, FP&A, or nonprofit accounting Desired Skills & Experience:Experience in nonprofit finance, fund accounting, or grant managementFamiliarity with restricted fund tracking and donor compliance requirementsExperience coordinating budgeting and forecasting processesExperience preparing financial reports for boards or leadership teamsStrong analytical and financial modeling skillsProficiency in Microsoft 365 (especially Excel) and financial systems Required Competencies:Understanding of nonprofit financial management, including restricted funds and grant complianceStrong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reportingAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesStrong communication skills, including the ability to translate financial data for non-financial audiencesCollaborative and solution-oriented mindsetProactive approach to continuous improvement and problem-solving Application Instructions: Submit Resume/CV and professional cover letter through Ohio History Connection careers website: https://www.applicantpro.com/openings/ohiohistory/jobs.
