Finance Agent Orchestration Manager

This role sits at the center of fund operations for a mission-driven venture capital firm managing roughly $600 to $700 million in assets across seven funds. As the second finance hire, you will own fund accounting end to end while leading the rollout and calibration of an AI-native fund administration platform. This is a priority hire because the current finance lead is at capacity and needs a true right-hand person who can take ownership from day one and build systems that scale.

The ideal candidate brings 3 to 5 years of experience in fund accounting, fund administration, or VC and PE finance, ideally earned at a Big Four firm or a reputable audit practice before moving into a startup or fund environment. You are genuinely excited about AI tools and automation, not just open to learning them, and you have a demonstrated interest in deep tech, science, or mission-driven investing that goes beyond the numbers. If you have rebuilt a broken finance workflow or led a system implementation before, this role was written for you.

Key Responsibilities

1. Own fund accounting, LP reporting, and capital account statements across seven funds
2. Lead the end-to-end implementation and calibration of a new AI-native fund administration platform
3. Identify and automate repetitive finance workflows using tools such as Excel macros, SQL, Python, Airtable, or AI-native solutions
4. Maintain accurate investment data, valuations, and portfolio company records
5. Produce quarterly LP reporting and capital account statements in partnership with the Head of Finance
6. Support ad hoc strategic projects including office acquisitions and cross-portfolio initiatives
7. Build scalable systems and documentation so that no manual task needs to be repeated twice

Required Skills & Experience

• 3 to 5 years of experience in fund accounting, fund administration, VC or PE finance, or investment fund audit
• Fluency in capital calls, distributions, NAV, management fees, and fund financial statements
• Hands-on experience automating or rebuilding a finance workflow using Excel macros, SQL, AI tools, or similar
• Comfort working fully on-site 5 days per week in San Francisco
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
• Mission-driven orientation with a genuine interest in deep tech, science, or impact investing

Preferred Skills

• Background following one of two paths: Big Four or established audit firm experience transitioning into a startup or fund finance role, or VC and PE fund analyst and associate experience or solutions architect experience at an AI-native finance platform
• Experience with tools such as Rillet, Tabs, or comparable AI-native accounting platforms
• Familiarity with Python and Airtable in a finance workflow context
• Top-25 university background (positive signal, not required)
• Eligibility for visa transfer support such as OPT or H-1B transfers
