About the Role:

The Payroll Coordinator assists the Payroll Manager in preparing and processing Rising Ground's regular and special payrolls, and in maintaining related records. The Payroll Coordinator also acts as a backup to the Payroll Manager.

What You'll Do:

  • Prepare and process payroll and time and attendance data in Rising Ground's ADP Workforce Now application for more than 1,800 employees.
  • Partner with the Human Resources team which establishes new employees with salary rates, deductions and coding to contracts.
  • Ensure employee payroll taxes and other deductions are up to date.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve timekeeping, wage, deduction and other payroll issues.
  • Respond to inquiries from staff regarding their pay and deductions.
  • Run reports from the ADP application
  • Recommend process improvements where applicable.
  • Provide materials for the agency audit and other payroll-related audits
  • Monitor garnishment, Health Savings account (HSA) and other benefit deductions to confirm accuracy.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Knowledge of W2s and required year-end payroll procedures.
  • Reconcile ADP Bank credit and debit notices
  • Reconcile ADP Cost Centers
  • Reconcile 401K payments before submission
  • Calculate Retroactive payments

Your Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of ADP Payroll System and reporting including 3 - 5 years of payroll experience.
  • Experience in producing a payroll.
  • Experience running Custom reports in ADP Work Force Now
  • Knowledge year-end payroll procedures and reporting including producing W-2s.
  • Knowledge of benefit programs such as FSA, HSA, 401K, union dues, etc.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with payroll and HR team members and with agency staff over the phone and by email.
  • Strong attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills, ability to multi-task and set priorities.
  • Advanced Excel skills including VLOOKUP Pivot tables
  • Bachelor's degree

Supervisory Responsibility No

Work Environment: Corporate Office, two remote days per week.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday in our Headquarters at 1333 Broadway office in Midtown Manhattan. Work hours are 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.
