Field Technician

Title: Associate Engineer/ Engineering Technician
Location: Richmond, VA
Duration: 6 months (Possibility of Extension)
Pay Range: $21/hr - $23/hr

Key Points:

• Field Data Collection & Tools
• Use iPads, GIS/mobile-data-collection apps, extendable measuring sticks, and proprietary software to record pole heights, attachment locations, equipment specs, and photos.
• Maintain accurate, complete data throughout the day; flag any unusual conditions or potential make-ready concerns for engineering review.

Post-Field Review

• Verify completeness of collected information and submit data and imagery for engineering/design evaluation.
  Work Environment & Travel
• Approximately 90% field-based: significant outdoor work on varied terrain, weather, and roadside settings.
  Regular weekly travel with overnight stays (typically Monday–Thursday) in rental vehicles across the service territory. Occasional emergency (storm-response) mobilizations may be required.
• Qualifications & Opportunity
• Entry-level friendly; preferred backgrounds include GIS, surveying, utility/telecom construction or inspection.
• Provides hands-on exposure to electric distribution systems, joint-use engineering, GIS technology, and utility operations—ideal for launching a power-delivery career
