    LOCATION: Midland, TX

    CONTEXT: Our client is seeking a reliable, mechanically inclined Field Service Technician to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing industrial self-priming trash pumps, with a focus on Gorman-Rupp 4x4, 6x6, and 8x6 units. Prior pump or heavy mechanical experience is preferred, but they are willing to train the right individual who possesses strong mechanical aptitudes, a solid work ethic, and a desire to work hands-on in the field.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Perform routine maintenance, field repairs, and overhaul of self-priming trash pumps and associated drive systems.
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical failures, seal leaks, suction problems, and engine/motor issues on-site.
    • Set up, test, and commission pump systems at customer job sites.
    • Conduct clear pre- and post-service inspections and complete digital or paper work orders detailing work performed.
    • Adhere strictly to all company and customer safety guidelines, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and PPE protocols.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked service vehicle and workspace.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Previous experience servicing, repairing, or installing centrifugal or self-priming trash pumps (specifically Gorman-Rupp 4x4, 6x6, or 8x6 models).
    • Experience with diesel engines, electric motors, power transmission, or basic hydraulics.
    • Background in construction equipment maintenance, agricultural mechanics, or industrial field service.
    • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent vocational training.
    • Strong mechanical aptitude and basic understanding of mechanical systems (hand tools, power tools, precision measuring).
    • Ability to troubleshoot logical issues and methodically solve mechanical problems.
    • Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
    • Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and ability to work independently or as part of a team in various outdoor field environments.
