Job involves performing additions, removals, and modifications to telecommunications equipment and wiring without supervision, including analyzing job specifications, resolving drawing issues, and performing in-process and final quality inspections. Key duties include adding/removing common systems equipment and wiring connections on non-working equipment, performing circuit modifications, and potentially leading Skill Level 1 and 2 Installers. This level requires proficiency in preparing MOPs and JIMs, as well as adherence to GR-1275 standards for Central Office and network equipment installation.
Responsibilities & Duties
Unsupervised Work:Â Perform additions, removals, and modifications to existing equipment and circuits without needing direct supervision or direction.
Equipment & Wiring:Â Add or remove common systems equipment, and add or remove wiring connections on non-working equipment.
Documentation & Problem-Solving:Â Analyze job specifications, drawings, and documentation to resolve problems and provide work assignments to lower-level installers.
Quality Control:Â Lead verification and continuity testing, perform in-process and final quality inspections, and mark or correct office record drawings.
Technical Proficiency:Â Be proficient in preparing detailed Method of Procedure (MOPs) documents and Job Information Memorandums (JIMs).
Quality Standards:Â Adhere to the installation methods and standards outlined in Telcordia GR-1275-CORE and customer-specific standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Demonstrated Proficiency:Â Proven proficiency at the Technician II level through experience and knowledge of Telcordia standards, often demonstrated via customer or installation supplier requirements.
Leadership Potential:Â Capability to provide work assignments and lead lower-level installers (Skill Level 1 and 2).
Technical Knowledge:Â Solid understanding of telecommunications systems, electronics, and networking.
