    Description

    IDR is seeking a Field Technician II to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Topeka, KS. In this role, youll support a large-scale low-voltage installation and service program for a leading organization in the retail/technology services space. This is a hands-on field position where youll serve as an onsite lead, ensuring quality installations while supporting standardization and training as partner and subcontractor usage grows.

    This is a fully onsite role in Topeka, KS. 

    Position Overview for the Field Technician II:

    • Serve as an onsite lead, directing, inspecting, and auditing technician work to ensure installation quality and consistency.
    • Perform low-voltage installation and service work at customer sites, including configuring, troubleshooting, testing, and documenting results.
    • Act as an escalation point in the fieldcommunicating updates to project teams and helping drive issue resolution.
    • Support training and coaching for internal team members and subcontractors to reinforce best practices and reliable installs.
    • Travel throughout the region as needed and remain flexible with shifts and occasional work outside standard hours.

    Requirements for the Field Technician II:

    • 2+ years of Technician I experience (or equivalent low-voltage installation/service background) with proven field troubleshooting and testing skills
    • Proficiency in at least 5 of the following: Voice, Data, Fire Alarm, Fiber, Burg Alarm, CCTV, Access Control, Digital Signage, Access Points, Networking
    • Ability to work independently in the field with minimal direction, while also serving as an onsite lead and escalation point
    • Strong communication, organization, attention to detail, and customer service skills with the ability to multitask under pressure
    • Ability to travel as needed and perform physical job demands (climbing ladders, working in ceilings/overhead areas, and lifting up to 45 lbs)
