Field Technician

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a Field Technician to support site investigations, inspections, assessments, monitoring, and testing activities for engineering and infrastructure projects in a variety of locations. This role will work closely with project managers, engineers, senior technical staff, contractors, and clients to collect and document accurate field data used to support design, rehabilitation, maintenance, and replacement recommendations.

The Field Technician will utilize knowledge of applicable standards, systems, document control procedures, codes, and company policies to perform field activities safely, accurately, and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with site investigations, inspections, and assessments within established project parameters.
• Review project requirements and accurately determine the appropriate format and content of required deliverables.
• Assist engineers with various technical aspects of surveys and condition assessments.
• Collect field data using various monitoring and testing equipment for site-specific assessments.
• Create field reports and documentation of monitoring and testing results.
• Compile technical data for presentation to Project Managers and senior staff to support design, rehabilitation, or replacement recommendations.
• Produce accurate and complete documentation of field data for use in engineering projects.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems related to project requirements.
• Verify the installation, troubleshooting, testing, repair, and maintenance of site monitoring and testing equipment.
• Interface with clients and other project stakeholders as needed.
• Ensure compliance with company and site-specific safety policies and procedures.
• Comply with all applicable company policies, procedures, and standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate Degree in Science or a related field preferred.
• General understanding of site investigations, inspections, and assessments.
• Basic knowledge of engineering design, construction, and inspection practices.
• Previous construction or engineering consulting experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment while supporting Project Managers, Directors, Engineers, Technicians, and site personnel.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with governmental agencies, clients, contractors, residents, suppliers, technical experts, and consultants.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read and understand engineering maps.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability and willingness to work in field environments and travel to project locations as required.
