FIELD SPECIALIST
Non-CDL Driver / Delivery Operations
ROLE PURPOSE
Completes safe, accurate, and professional customer and vendor pickups and deliveries using non-CDL company vehicles and authorized trailers while protecting the load, equipment, and company reputation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
· Review the assigned route, delivery documents, customer instructions, site location, and contact information before departure.
· Perform and document required pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the assigned vehicle, trailer, load-securement equipment, and related tools; report defects before operation.
· Confirm that the item count, description, destination, and supporting paperwork match the assigned pickup or delivery before leaving the branch or pickup location.
· Safely connect, inspect, pull, maneuver, and back authorized bumper-pull trailers within vehicle, trailer, license, and company limits.
· Load, distribute, secure, transport, and unload material using approved methods and only equipment the employee is trained and authorized to operate.
· Follow approved routes and customer site rules; immediately communicate delays, access problems, accidents, damage, rejected material, or order discrepancies.
· Obtain required signatures, proof of delivery, pickup confirmation, photographs, or other documentation and return or submit it promptly.
· Provide professional customer service at each location without changing quantities, pricing, credit terms, delivery commitments, or product specifications unless authorized.
· Keep assigned vehicles, trailers, tools, and cargo areas clean, organized, fueled, and ready for service.
· Assist with loading, unloading, and order staging when not assigned to a route.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & JOB REQUIREMENTS
· Previous delivery or route-driving experience is required; industrial or oilfield delivery experience is preferred.
· Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record; must remain qualified under company insurance requirements.
· Ability to safely operate a non-CDL pickup truck and authorized equipment within all legal and company limits.
· Demonstrated ability to connect, pull, maneuver, back, inspect, and load a bumper-pull trailer.
· Ability to read maps, GPS directions, coordinates, delivery instructions, and basic shipping documents.
· Ability to use a cell phone, tablet, navigation application, and basic computer applications used by GSS.
· Strong customer-service, communication, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
· Reliable transportation to and from work and the ability to work assigned hours.
