Job Summary
We are hiring four (4) Field Services Installation Technicians to join our growing field team. In this hands-on role, you will travel to community sites across the region to install modular homes from foundation to finish. You will work across multiple skilled trades: HVAC, electrical, framing, and plumbing and must demonstrate competency in each area. This is an active, outdoor-forward role that demands a strong work ethic, adaptability, and pride in quality craftsmanship.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform on-site installation of modular home units at community development sites
- Execute structural set and marriage wall connection between home modules
- Complete site prep tasks including blocking, leveling, and anchoring
- Ensure all installation activities meet manufacturer specifications and local code requirements
- Connect and commission HVAC systems including ductwork, air handlers, and mechanical equipment
- Perform basic troubleshooting and testing of heating and cooling systems at installation
- Ensure proper ventilation, airflow, and mechanical tie-ins at each site
- Run and connect electrical service including panels, branch circuits, and fixtures
- Perform service connections and meter base installations per local utility requirements
- Test and verify electrical systems are safe, code-compliant, and fully operational
- Complete on-site framing tasks including marriage wall, roof tie-in, and structural repairs
- Install and finish exterior trim, skirting, steps, and decking as needed
- Identify and correct any structural issues arising during transport or installation
- Connect water supply, drain, and sewer lines at point-of-connection
- Install and test fixtures, water heaters, and under-home plumbing tie-ins
- Identify and resolve any plumbing issues prior to site sign-off
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work site throughout each project
- Adhere to all OSHA safety guidelines and company safety protocols
- Communicate daily progress and issues to the Field Services Supervisor
- Represent Prime Craftsman Homes professionally with community partners, clients, and inspectors
Qualifications
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in at least two of the following trades: HVAC, electrical, framing, or plumbing
- Working knowledge and ability to perform general tasks in all four trade areas
- Ability and willingness to travel to job sites as required — including overnight stays
- Comfortable working outdoors in variable weather conditions year-round
- Physically able to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, work in crawl spaces, and stand for extended periods
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in the field
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with hand and power tools
- Experience working in a team-based production environment.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- Experience reading blueprints, site plans, and manufacturer installation guides
Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Field-based role this position works primarily at outdoor community installation sites and may be work at the plant as needed
- Travel required to sites across Kansas and surrounding region
- Must be prepared for varying environmental conditions including heat, cold, wind, and uneven terrain
Work Schedule & Benefits
- Full-time position with standard Monday–Friday schedule; overtime and weekend work may be required based on project demands
- Overtime may be required based on production needs.
