POSITION OVERVIEW
As a
Field Service Technician (Field Based), your roles and responsibilities will include:
- Provide expert on-site technical support for pharmacy automation and dispensing systems across hospital, retail, and long-term-care pharmacy environments.
- Perform break/fix repairs, preventive maintenance, equipment calibration, hardware diagnostics, and electromechanical troubleshooting.
- Identify root causes of technical issues and implement effective solutions to maximize system uptime.
- Respond to customer service requests within defined SLA requirements.
- Provide technical training to pharmacy staff to ensure proper system operation.
- Support system installations, commissioning, upgrades, and implementation activities.
- Document service activities, technical resolutions, and customer interactions in Salesforce Field Service Lightning.
- Collaborate with regional and national service teams to resolve complex technical issues.
- Provide product performance feedback to engineering, quality, and management teams to support continuous improvement.
- Participate in regional field coverage rotations, including occasional overnight travel and weekend, holiday, or on-call support.
QUALIFICATIONS
Most importantly, you need to be a passionate
Field Service Technician who enjoys their work and is considered to be one of the best within your organization. The ideal
Field Service Technician would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following:
- 3 5 years of Field Service Engineer/Technician experience, preferably within medical devices, healthcare technology, or pharmacy automation.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience working with system configuration files and XML files.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, IP configuration, router/switch management, and network troubleshooting.
- Experience with system ghosting, imaging, and re-imaging.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and experience using standard hand tools.
- Experience with disassembly and reassembly of complex mechanical or electromechanical subsystems.
- Strong technical documentation and communication skills.
- Associate Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering Technology, Electronics, Mechatronics, IT, or STEM is preferred.
- Experience supporting automated dispensing systems or pharmacy robotics is preferred.
- Experience working in regulated healthcare or FDA-regulated environments is a plus.
- Ability to travel daily throughout the Philadelphia regional territory.
- Ability to occasionally travel overnight or by air.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and 100 lbs occasionally.
- Flexibility to work extended days of up to 10 12 hours when required.
