    Description

    The NOV Aftermarket Group is currently recruiting a Field Service Technician to join our team in Odessa TX. This role will troubleshoot and repair drilling equipment in the Odessa area. If you're a motivated individual and enjoy working in the field, meeting customers, and repairing NOV products, this job is for you!     • Must possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Microsoft Office knowledge is required.
    • Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics and basic electrical drawings required.
    • Minimum 3-5 years mechanical experience required.
    • Working knowledge of rig floor equipment preferred, including Top Drives and Iron Rough Necks preferred
    • Working knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics required
    • Working knowledge of electrical required

    • Interface with relevant departments to obtain a thorough understanding of NOV products and how they are safely operated, tested, calibrated and problems are resolved in a timely manner.
    • Travel to customer sites to inspect, install, commission, test, calibrate, repair and train customers on the safe and proper operation of NOV products.
    • Perform field upgrades of software and hardware and train customers on how to properly operate the system.
    • Communicate field failures and feedback reports to the appropriate departments.
    • Complete and submit field service documentation in a timely manner.
    • Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
    • Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.

    FACILITY/GROUP SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Install, commission, troubleshoot, and repair drilling equipment.
    • Provide training to other NOV Field Service Technicians.
    • Provide accurate and timely reports to appropriate personnel regarding work progress and output.
    • Work in repair shop when needed.

    Ability to pass a drug screen & background check.

    • Valid Driver's license required - as you will be operating a company vehicle.
    • Must obtain NOV corporate credit card and maintain an active status per NOV credit card policy.
    • Overtime will be required - must be willing & able to work nights, weekend, and on-call 24/7.
    • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics required.
    • Ability to utilize various electrical diagnostic tools including multimeters, oscilloscope, and basic hand tools required.
    • Ability to interact effectively with customer and contractor personnel.
    • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Able to work well in a team environment as well as self-directed when working independently.
    • Willingness to comply with all safety regulations and procedures.
    • Must be able to work under pressure to achieve deadlines.
    • Ability to meet or exceed standards as established by the department.
    • Ability to adapt and be cross-trained to learn all job duties.
    • Work in harsh environments including rain, snow, heat, and heights in excess of 150 feet.
