Medical Alert Alarm Installer Full Time / Part Time
Home Service Alarm Technician / Remote

We are currently seeking a Remote Home Service Installation Technician who will be responsible for traveling to customers homes and installing in-home medical technology. The equipment is plug-and-play, and there will be no need for tools. Technicians are not required to sell any products.

NOTE: This position REQUIRES travel to Pittsburgh PA for technician training for a minimum of 2-3 days at the companies expense. You are asked to drive your personal vehicle to training. You will be compensated. If you choose not to drive your vehicle we can provide a flight at our expense but may delay your start date.

NOTE: This position requires the use of you personal vehicle for the first 90 days of employment if applying for FULL TIME.After completion of 90 days on the job and a performance review, a company vehicle may become available for use (FULL TIME ONLY) at which point the technician will be able to keep this vehicle at home for company use. Our vehicles do have location monitoring.

What can you expect the job to be like?

Hiring Process:

After Staar has reached out to the candidate and the candidate has shown interest and would like to proceed. A simple background screen will be completed before an official interview.

Job history is required with contact information for reference checks.

Once the interview is completed, the applicant will complete all necessary on boarding paperwork with HR and a complete background check will be done.

Once that step above is completed, a formal job offer will be send to the applicant.

Once accepted, the applicant will be required to travel to Pittsburgh, PA at the companies expense for 2-3 days of in person training. We ask that new employees drive their personal vehicle to Pittsburgh so that you can leave with all equipment needed to begin work. Staar Alert will compensate the new employee for travel via mileage paid and hourly rate paid.

After being hired, you will need to fill out an application and pass a background check. After the background check, you will be set up for online and in-person training. Paid training lasts approximately 4-7 days. You will immediately have access to the employee assistance program after training.

You will be given an employee uniform to wear during installations and be issued an iPad to electronically complete the days work. All other required and necessary item for daily work related to installations will be provide by the company.

The service department will schedule all service calls, pickups, and installation of equipment during the week. Your daily route is pushed to your provided iPad each morning by 9am.

When you arrive at the customer's home, you will need to greet them, use their name throughout the conversation, show them the equipment, describe how it works, install the equipment, test the equipment, and finally complete our user agreement via iPad.

You will need to be in constant contact with the service office throughout the day to update them on any changes.

On Call phone availability will be REQUIRED on a rotating basis once the new employee is comfortable in their new role.

Summary: Oversees all field service operations performed by installing, servicing, and picking up Medical Alert Systems, Medication Management Systems, Telehealth Systems, and various other products. They are also ensuring services meet established standards by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Ability to use wire cutters, screwdrivers, programming wires, and other basic hands tools.*
Anticipates needs and establishes priorities and courses of action to meet objectives daily.*
Maintains and completes paperwork for finalizing the work assignment.*
Completes work within daily tech reports and turns it into the appropriate manager.
Ability to drive safely to the job site and use GPS navigation.*
Tests the equipment for installations and service work.*
Retrieves equipment at the end of the customer service agreement.
Communicates in a clear, concise manner via verbal and written form with employees and other groups to ensure comprehension.*
Reports any maintenance issues with company vehicles.*
Performs other duties as assigned.
