    Description

    Successful candidates are skilled mechanically, and electrically.

     This position is responsible for electro-mechanical assembly and in process testing/inspection of products in compliance with ISO requirements.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

    • Assembly of various types of products such as wiring harnesses, cables, and electronic alarm and monitoring systems
    •  Brings forth creativity in the production processes, adding value to the company’s products
    • Responsible for the completion and accuracy of associated quality and production documentation
    • May test products during and after the assembly process
    • Responsible for a safe work environment. Each employee must inspect their work area of responsibility on a continual basis and take appropriate steps to rectify any hazards
    • Other related duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

    • Diploma from a technical institution or equivalent work experience (2-years’ experience) is required
    • Working knowledge of wires/cables - Examples include: Preparation of wire, cutting wires to specific lengths, panel assembly, wire striping, wire terminating (installing terminals on ends of wire), and metric measurements 
    • Must have excellent soldering skills for electronic and electrical components
    • Training to IPC/WHMA standard 620C “Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies”, is highly desirable
    • Must be able to understand an interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings and work from these documents

    • Experience with resistance, hi-pot, continuity, and computerized testing using tools such as a DVM/DMM (digital volt meter/digital multi meter)
    • Must be able to measure in both English and metric units and can convert measurements
    • Knowledge of piston engine functions and design, diesel and gas is highly desirable
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word is desirable
    • Sufficient knowledge of mechanical/structural design, electrical schematics, integrated circuits, electronic components and their functions
    • Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of changing situations under stress
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of supervisors, peers, vendors, customers, and the public
    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

    Other Requirements:

    • Experience repairing  either engines, generators, turbines, motors, or gears

    • Willingness and ability to travel

    • Valid drivers license

    • Professional experience and training on a leading brand of generators or engines (Kohler, Scania, Deutz, CAT, Cummins, Generac, Mitsubishi, Ford, MAN, MTU)
