Field Service Technician - Lafayette, INKirby Risk Mechanical Solutions & Service

At Kirby Risk Mechanical Solutions & Service, our Field Service Technicians play a vital role in delivering predictive and preventative maintenance services that help customers prevent failures, extend equipment life, and keep their facilities operating safely and efficiently.

What You'll Do as a Field Service Technician

You'll:

Participate in the emergency service on call rotation upon completing the initial training period

Perform on‑site troubleshooting and diagnostics across various customer environmentsConduct predictive and preventative maintenance services including vibration analysis, laser alignment, oil analysis, infra‑red thermography, dynamic balancing, and VFD startups

Provide ongoing technical support after repair services are completedPresent detailed service findings and recommendations for customer review and approvalCoordinate job flow with customers and internal MSS scheduling teamsDocument all service calls for accurate and timely billingTrack results and success metrics for implemented programsMaintain professionalism in all customer and vendor interactionsPursue ongoing education to stay current with MSS technologies and applicationsSupport on-call and after-hours service rotations

What Makes You a Great Fit

College-level coursework or 2+ years relevant experienceTrade/technical school certification or equivalent hands-on experienceMinimum 21 years of ageUnderstanding of electrical wiring principles and mechanical systemsStrong interpersonal communication and customer service skillsSolid math skills and strong attention to detailAbility to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, work independently, and think criticallyContinuous learner with ability to retain technical training and skill developmentProficiency with computers; Microsoft Office preferred

What to Expect in This Role

Ability to push, pull, carry, lift up to 50 lbs. and adapt to varied work environmentsAfter completing the initial training period, you will be required to participate in the emergency service on call rotationAbility to sit, stand, crouch, and walk for extended periods of timeFrequent use of hands for tools, equipment, and documentationTravel required (daily, with occasional overnight)Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7am-4pm, with occasional on-call needs
