POSITION SUMMARY: A Field Service Technician (FST) is primarily responsible for the installation, operation, repair, removal, and maintenance of company tools and other oilfield equipment.
FST I Trainee
New hire -- still considered SSE -- minimal or no field/product line experience (required knowledge testing to promote)
Complete all required HSE training within first week; complete any required 3rd party certifications as scheduled by HSE.
FST I
Complete on the job training in the field with documented positive feedback from assigned mentor - could be non-SSE- Has CDL (if required) and considered a "helper only" on location. (required knowledge testing to promote)
Land: Complete a minimum of 3 months as helper on location with assigned mentor.
Offshore: Complete a minimum of 2 jobs offshore with assigned mentor.
For external hires:
Offshore: complete all requirements within 12 months of hire.
Land: complete all requirements within 6 months of hire.
FST II
Minimum 1 year of O&G product line experience.
Can run a shift on location without supervision, has CDL (if required) (Required knowledge testing to promote)
Wireline: can run 10k and below jobs independently on location.
Production Services/Frac/Isolation: can run a shift of one or more job types independently on location.
Complete FST Level 2 test and checklist for assigned product line to verify knowledge.
For external hires: complete all requirements within 90 days of hire.
FST III
Minimum 2 years of O&G product line experience.
Proficient in all product line job types, and can run all job types independently without supervision -- considered a Lead in a product line, has CDL (if required)
Complete FST Level 3 test and checklist for assigned product line to verify knowledge.
For external hires: complete all requirements within 90 days of hire.
