    Description

Shamrock Business Consulting is working with a growing field service organization to find a Field Service Technician.

Here is what makes this one different: you are not going to live on the road. The client protects downtime and does not claw it back the moment a job runs long. They still need someone who wants to travel — but there is a difference between traveling for work and never being home, and they know it.

    WHAT YOU'LL DO

    • Perform startup, commissioning, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on critical power and electrical equipment in the field
    • Work independently on customer sites and represent the company as the technical point of contact
    • Diagnose faults, determine root cause, and complete repairs or coordinate parts and follow-up service
    • Document work accurately — field service reports, test data, deficiencies, and recommendations
    • Follow all site safety requirements, including energized work controls, LOTO, and PPE per NFPA 70E
    • Communicate openly with the customer, the office, and the rest of the crew throughout the job
    • Support less experienced technicians and share what you know

    WHAT YOU BRING

    • Hands-on field service, electrical, or electronics experience — military technical training transfers directly here
    • Navy NEC electronics backgrounds are a strong fit and encouraged to apply
    • Ability to read and interpret schematics, one-lines, and control wiring diagrams
    • Comfortable troubleshooting on live customer sites, under schedule pressure, without someone standing over your shoulder
    • Genuine willingness to travel
    • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
    • Able to pass a background check and drug screen

    HOW THEY WORK

They hire against five things and they mean them: start from “how can I help,” work toward one goal, actually want to work with people, communicate openly, and deliver quality work. If that is how you already operate, you will fit. Invest in them and they will invest in you — that is the deal, and they hold up their end.
