    Job Summary

    MSI Viking is seeking an experienced metrology professional to lead and support our field service technicians. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can provide technical guidance, maintain accountability, and help ensure field service work is completed efficiently while meeting company, customer, and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.

    Responsibilities

    • Ensure technicians complete required documentation for verification and calibration of CMMs, vision systems, optical comparators, surface plates, hardness testers, microscopes, and related equipment
    • Ensure field service work is performed in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 procedures
    • Review and approve technicians' weekly time and monthly expenses
    • Provide technical support to technicians and customers
    • Prepare quotes and process orders for calibrations, repairs, retrofits, machine moves, and new equipment setup
    • Travel into the field as needed to assist technicians or follow up on customer concerns
    • Conduct employee reviews and support onboarding and offboarding activities
    • Help maintain technician accountability, productivity, and service quality

    Required Skills and Experience

    • 3–5 years of metrology experience required
    • Strong decision-making and critical-thinking skills
    • Ability to manage conflict and provide direction to employees
    • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, and data entry
    • High school diploma or GED required
    • Formal metrology training or previous Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL) training preferred

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds
    • Ability to bend, kneel, stand, and grasp objects as required
